Betty Meggers is an American archaeologist. ” Probably her best known contribution was her controversial assertion of a pre-historic relationship between the peoples of North-Western South America and of Japan”. I personally had the good fortune to meet her at a seminar at the Library of Congress in 2005. Scholars taking similar positions to Dr. Meggers have walked an often lonely road but they have courageously advanced the theory of ancient Asian Trans Pacific travel to where it is today.
