About (Hendon M Harris)
Hendon M. Harris III (1949) is the son of a third generation missionary. He moved to Taiwan with his parents as an infant and learned to speak Mandarin as he was learning to speak English. At age six he returned to the United States with his three older sisters to attend boarding school. Shortly after he lost his Chinese language skills from lack of use. In 1962 he moved with his family to Hong Kong where he attended King George Vth School. He still considers the time spent in Hong Kong and KGV School as the happiest and most formative years of his youth.
In 1965 Hendon returned to the U.S. to attend university. He graduated in 1971 from California State University Long Beach with a B.A in history. In 1971 Hendon entered the financial industry. He formed a mortgage brokerage firm in 1980 and remains the President of the company today. In 1997 Hendon and his wife began investing in the Victor Valley area of Southern California. They remain active in that area having built two small shopping centers as well as owning and managing office buildings and other commercial properties there. Hendon assisted his wife in founding a local unit of a national youth organization in the Victor Valley. He currently serves on the board. He was also instrumental in bringing the Head Start government preschool program to Adelanto as well as expanding the library facility for the same city.
Hendon has been following his father’s research with interest for many years. This has included two trips to visit with Dr. John Hebert, Chief of Geography and Map Division, in the map vaults of the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. However it wasn’t until February 2009 that he became directly involved. This was after a sister asked him what she should do if she knew where one might find undiscovered gold. Since that time Hendon has spent countless hours viewing satellite photos available on the internet as well as trips to the alleged route of a documented ancient Chinese expedition of approximately 4200 years ago. His satellite imagery research has since expanded to cover all of North, Central and South America as well as other areas of the world. The material, Hendon on the Great Wall, China made available here is the result of his ongoing research. Hendon is available for speaking engagements upon request.
